We pioneered the use of SPVs in Japan during SmartHR’s Series B, and we launched Startup Aquarium, now the largest startup career fair in the country.
We believe we’ve been able to make these moves because we don’t see ourselves as just venture capitalists—we see ourselves as creators at heart, driven by the desire to build what doesn’t yet exist.

Coral Capital is seeking members for its Operations Team to cover a wide range of responsibilities, including fund management, deal execution, investment management, and corporate operations. The Operations Analyst will work under the direction of the Operations Associate, VP of Finance, and founding partners, collaborating with external lawyers and accountants to assist with fund formation, ongoing management, various regulatory and investor relations, and corporate operations.
【Requirements】
- Have basic knowledge of middle-back positions in general finance
- Experience in handling contracts, spreadsheets, etc.
- A desire to build a career in the middle back of a fund
【Ideal candidate】
- 2-3 years or more experience banks in support work at accounting firms, investment, banks, auditing firms, law firms, and business companies in the middle and back office
- Someone who has an eye for detail
- Perfectionist who can also adapt to a startup environment

【overview】
As the “right-hand man” of the Investment Team, which includes members living both overseas and in Japan, you will be responsible for operations that maximize the team’s execution speed with a startup-first attitude, such as arranging overseas and domestic business trips, setting up meetings, coordinating event appearances, expense reimbursement, and business card management. English-Japanese bilingualism is essential.
【Main duties】
- Arranging international/domestic business trips: flights, accommodation, visa/ESTA confirmation, itinerary creation, local transportation and dining arrangements, time zone adjustments
- MTG setting: Coordinating schedules with founders, VCs, LPs, etc., sharing agendas, sending reminders, creating meeting notes/actions
- Event presentation support: Contacting the organizer, submitting title, profile, and bio, adjusting slides, equipment, and on-site flow
- Expense reimbursement: receipt collection, policy compliance checks, monthly closing and return handling, audit evidence organization
- Contact management: Business card scanning, CRM/contact DB updates, and automated follow-up support
【Required requirements】
- Practical level in both Japanese and English (able to read and write, coordinate meetings, and write emails independently)
- Experience in assisting with schedule adjustments, business trip arrangements, expense settlement, etc. (approximately 2 years or more)
- Basic skills in Google Workspace/Calendar operation, Slack, and document management
- High accuracy and speed, strict confidentiality, and multitasking management skills
【Preferred requirements】
- Experience in VC/PE/investment banking/consulting/startup assistant operations
- Practical experience in event management and presentation coordination
- Experience using CRM (eg HubSpot, etc.) and automation tools (GAS, etc.)

- Systematically sourcing promising investment opportunities
- Form your own views and hypotheses about the investment area and startups. Why should you invest in that company? What creates the opportunity to generate significant returns in that field?
- Build relationships with key people across various communities, including academia, technology, startups, and government.
- Leading due diligence on everything relevant to making an investment decision: the founding team, product, technology, market strategy, competitive position, regulations, etc. of startups under consideration.
Startup support
- Work with our ecosystem team (the portfolio company support team) to think about how we can continue to provide top-class service to our portfolio companies.
- We contribute to various initiatives that bring together capital, talent, and insights for our investment destinations.
Fund Raising
- Building relationships with existing and potential LPs for future fundraising.
- Work with partners to close the fund.

- Work closely with the Content Lead to collaboratively distribute content in various formats, including blog posts, YouTube videos, and presentations.
[ Ideal candidate ]
- Any industry is acceptable, but you must have at least three years of experience that allows you to convincingly explain why you can become a top-class investor.
- Experience in VC or startups would be a plus, but not required.
- A great balance of IQ and EQ.
- A strong passion for science and technology, supported by previous work and personal projects.
- Ability to understand and discuss a wide range of topics and a strong intellectual curiosity.
