【概要】Coral Capitalでは、ファンド管理、ディール実行、投資先管理、コーポレート業務までを横断的に担うOperations Teamのメンバーを募集しています。Operations Assistantは、Operations Teamのメンバーや創業パートナーと密に連携しながら、外部の弁護士・会計士とも協働し、ファンドの組成から期中管理、規制対応、投資家対応まで幅広く関わります。単なる「サポート業務」ではなく、自ら主体的に業務を推進し、改善し、オペレーションの質を高めていけるポジションです。ファンド運営の全体像を理解しながら、実務を通じて専門性を磨いていくことができます。

- 有望な投資機会を体系的にソーシング
- 投資領域とスタートアップに関する見解・仮説を自ら立てる。なぜその企業に投資すべきか？何がその分野で大きなリターンを生み出す機会を作るのか？
- 学界、技術、スタートアップ、政府など、さまざまなコミュニティーを横断してキーパーソンとの関係性を構築する。
- 投資決定を行うために関連するすべてのもの。つまり、検討中のスタートアップの創業チーム、プロダクト、技術、市場戦略、競争位置、規制などのデューデリジェンスを主導。
スタートアップ支援
- 弊社のエコシステムチーム(投資先支援チーム）と連携し、当社の投資先企業に対してトップクラスのサービスを提供し続ける方法について考える。
- 投資先のためにCapital (資金）、Talent（人材）、Insights (知見）が集まる様々な取り組みに貢献する。
ファンドの資金調達
- 既存LPおよびLP候補と将来の資金調達のために関係を構築する。
- パートナーと協力してファンドのクロージングを行う。

Coral Capital is a leading early-stage venture capital firm based in Tokyo. We have backed some of Japan’s most important startups, including SmartHR (Japan’s largest HR SaaS), Kyoto Fusioneering (advanced nuclear/fusion energy), GITAI (space robotics), Ramp (corporate cards and spend management), and dozens more across AI, fintech, healthtech, and deep tech. We have also built one of the strongest content and community platforms in the Japanese startup ecosystem: a YouTube channel with over 100,000 subscribers (the largest tech-focused channel in Japan), the Startup Aquarium conference, and the Coral School networking series.
We believe Japan is entering a defining era. The country’s precision manufacturing, deep capital reserves, democratic alignment, and leadership in robotics, defense, energy, and longevity make it the West’s most important industrial and capital partner in Asia. Global supply chain realignment, the rise of physical AI, and a new wave of geopolitical cooperation are converging to make Japan more relevant to the world’s top founders and investors than at any point in decades.
Our thesis is simple: Build with Japan. We exist to connect Japan’s strengths with the world’s most ambitious companies and investors. And we need someone to help us tell that story.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Despite Japan’s resurgence, the “Japan × Tech” narrative barely exists in Western media. No one is consistently telling this story with the depth, credibility, and editorial taste it deserves. That’s the gap, and it’s yours to fill.
We’re looking for our first dedicated English content hire, someone who will build Coral’s international media presence from the ground up. This isn’t a marketing role. It’s a content leadership position at the intersection of media, venture capital, and one of the most important economic stories of the decade.
You’ll own the full English content strategy, from our “Build with Japan” YouTube and podcast series to curating high-end networking events that connect Japan’s most interesting founders with global investors, operators, and executives. You’ll have direct access to Coral’s leadership, LP network, and portfolio companies, and the creative freedom to define what this platform becomes.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
Content Strategy & Production
- Own end-to-end English content strategy across YouTube, podcast, blog, newsletter, and social media, building an audience of global founders, investors, and operators who want to understand Japan
- Produce and direct video content for the “Build with Japan” series: you set the editorial direction and work with our production partners on execution
- Develop original formats and series that position Coral as the definitive English-language voice on Japan’s startup ecosystem and industrial resurgence
- Create content around high-conviction themes: physical AI and robotics, defense and dual-use technology, longevity and biotech, energy and advanced materials, and Japan’s role in global supply chains
- Surface and translate compelling Japanese-language content for international audiences, leveraging AI tools to scale without sacrificing quality
Events & Community
- Curate and produce English-language editions of Coral School: intimate, high-end networking events (~30 to 50 attendees) connecting senior executives, foreign companies entering Japan, overseas LPs, and top founders
- Develop event programming with a focus on signal over scale: speaker selection, thematic arcs, and guest curation that creates genuine relationship density
- Support Coral’s broader event strategy, including the annual Japan immersion trip for top US founders and investors
Narrative & Ecosystem Bridge
- Help shape and amplify Coral’s “Build with Japan” narrative, making the case that Japan is the West’s industrial and capital anchor in Asia
- Build relationships with overseas LPs, US/global VCs, foreign companies entering Japan, international media, and tech influencers
- Support Coral’s fundraising and BD efforts by producing content and events that demonstrate Coral’s unique positioning and network in Japan
- Engage with the global VC and tech community on social platforms, building Coral’s English-language presence with substance, not noise
WHO YOU ARE
Must-Have
- Native or near-native English speaker with strong Japanese ability (business level or above). You could be a Japanese-speaking foreigner, kikokushijo, or bilingual Japanese national
- Deep interest in (or experience with) Japan’s tech ecosystem, venture capital, or the broader Japan business landscape. You find this story genuinely compelling
- You have produced content in the form of long-form editorial, video, or podcasts. Even better if you’ve done all of the above. Journalism backgrounds (Japan Times, Bloomberg, Nikkei Asia, etc.) are a strong signal
- Strong editorial taste: you understand what makes content compelling to a sophisticated, senior audience. Not engagement-bait, but insight that makes people rethink their assumptions about Japan
- Comfortable in rooms with senior executives, LPs, and founders. You can hold the room as a host, moderator, or interviewer
- X/Twitter literate: you use the platform regularly, have a feel for how the algorithm works, and understand what kind of content resonates with founders, investors, and the tech community
- AI-native: you use AI tools daily in your workflow and think about how to leverage them for content production at scale
- Based in Tokyo or willing to relocate
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in venture capital, startups, or adjacent industries (consulting, investment banking, tech)
- Video direction sense: you don’t need to edit, but you know what looks and sounds good on camera
- Event production or community-building experience, especially cross-cultural events bridging Japan and the West
- An existing network in the Japan international business or media community
- Understanding of the themes driving Japan’s resurgence: physical AI, defense, energy, longevity, supply chain realignment
WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
Japan is having a moment. After decades of being overlooked by Western investors and media, the country is rearming, reindustrializing, and reasserting itself as a critical node in the global technology supply chain. Trillions of dollars in capital, world-class manufacturing, and deep alignment with the US and its allies are converging to create what may be the most important under-told story in global tech.
Coral Capital has spent a decade building the platform, the network, and the thesis to tell this story with authority. What we need now is someone with the editorial instinct and production skill to make it resonate with the world’s best founders, investors, and operators.

COMPENSATION & WORKING STYLE
- Competitive compensation commensurate with experience
